Overcoming Exclusion
The project engages three institutions that are actively involved in education of adult people both formally
and non-formally. The main objective is to strengthen adults key competences and promote informal and
non-formal learning as a tool that helps overcome exclusion, eliminate boundaries and achieve mutual
understanding between different social and cultural groups. We shall also explore, analyze and share the
experiences of three organisations in teaching, mentoring, guiding and developing the key competences
of adult learners. We would also test the method of the Latvian partners for evaluation of the non formal
and informal training of socially disadvantaged learners.
There will be 3 mobilities during which educators will participate in seminars, workshops, have
discussion and debates sessions. During the project all the activities that will be organized together
with the students are going to be set within the frames of experiential learning. It is important to engage
students in the activities such as presentations, reports and discussions so that they can share their
experience and practice their competency of languages used in different social, cultural and job context.
We shall disseminate the results via the Internet, mass media (articles that discuss the education and
learning of adults from different academic disciplines, perspectives and traditions), face-to-face meetings
and seminars and finally creating a medium for international and transnational debate on encouraging
diversity in theoretical and methodological levels. In order to make the Project sustainable after the
project we are creating a network of three participating institutions and we will establish a communication
plan for this.
